Manuel Dhoine, 35 years old , is an oyster breeding worker on the Oleron Island. It is a new year and the activity of the oyster workers is on its highest. As everybody works hard in the oyster bay Elsa, his young wife decides to leave the Island. Manuel’s world is falling down.

On an exposed and windswept peninsular live two brothers and their families struggling for survival, hating each other. Isolated, cut off from the modern "overtalkative" world, communication runs on empty. 14 year old Ilda's perception of the world is built on her personal interpretation of events and she grows up believing life is mysterious and full of rituals. Until she actually meets the boy next door, her worst ennemy.  Stepping onto forbidden territory, Ilda's imaginary word confronts reality. In doing so she discovers the truth.
