Harouna Aboubacar Zeinabou Children of Noma
Christian Lajoumard
2007, 61' et 52'
Noma is a disease that mostly affects children. It is limited to poor countries, in particular in the sub-Saharan regions. Noma afflicts 100.000 children a year and it is estimated that most of them die.
A few children, cared for by humanitarian organizations, are transferred to and treated in Europe.
Shot in Switzerland and Niger, this films deals with three of these children. Aboubacar, Harouna and Zeinabou, all at a serious stage of the illness, are transferred to Europe to be “reconstructed”. We follow them in the course of the many months they spend far from their country and family… and the return to their village.
